They're halfway home.

The Artemis II astronauts have hit the "halfway" mark between the Moon and the Earth. They will splash down in the Pacific Ocean around 8:07 pm ET on Friday, April 10 (0007 UTC on Saturday, April 11), off the coast of San Diego.

Amazing to think that they will complete half the return journey within a day! ISSINFO has the flight path, and you can see how the speed increases.

The crew deserves a parade when they return. Like the ones we used to have in NYC with confetti and ticker tape

Halfway home in terms of distance but much more than halfway in terms of time because they continue to accelerate, just like a falling object.

The fact that they’ll hit re-entry at 40000km/h is absolutely blowing every sliver of my mind. Best of luck to them, godspeed.
