Starfinder 2nd Edition is already a game where you can play as a space rat, an alien jellyfish that can rewrite its genetic code, or just a giant brain. But now it looks to add even more to the wild and weird world of its sci-fantasy setting, with a new expansion coming in a few months, Galactic Ancestries. This book will expand Starfinder even further, adding some 21 new alien ancestries to the mix.

You might be wondering, how does it get much weirder than DNA-recompiling space jellyfish. And that’s a fair question. But in Galactic Ancestries, you’ll find a host of new intergalactic options. Including a “sentient rollerball” or a miniature sun.
But in addition to the new ancestries, there are more options for the existing ones too. Because Pathfinder and Starfinder can cross-pollinate now. Which means that, technically, anything you can play in one, you can play in the other.
And you know what that means: Space Gnomes.

So sneakily, this is also a Pathfinder 2E release. Which is a little strange if you find yourself playing an Elf and a Robot Elf and a Space Elf all in the same party. But you can. And, knowing my friends, that’s probably exactly what’s going to happen.
