They are being studied by the Mars rover Curiosity at the moment.

    It’s somehow layered twice in perpendicular directions, breaks your brain a bit trying to visualize it. Maybe another layered rock sat on it when the mud was still wet.

    The flat rock on the left looks more interesting tho, those squiggles don’t quite look like shadows.
