The summer of Supergirl is getting closer, as Kara Zor-El’s solo film gets a major new DC Universe update.
CinemaCon 2026 is continuing, as day 2 is focused on Warner Bros. Discovery, bringing DC Studios’ Supergirl into the spotlight at the Las Vegas event, with ScreenRant in attendance. During the presentation, Milly Alcock, Jason Momoa, and director Craig Gillespie were present to show more footage from the DCU installment.
Supergirl is seen in the desert as a ship lands next to her. She puts on glasses. The ship then flies off the planet and into space. An alien throws up inside the ship. It looks like an airplane, but with aliens. All kinds of creatures akin to the Mos Eisley Cantina in Star Wars. Supergirl talks to the aliens around her. She stands up to defend a kid who is being detained by another alien. Supergirl and the young girl, Ruthye, know each other. Supergirl asks why Ruthye isn’t with Krypto. The ship’s hyphen gets taken over by a bigger spaceship that is overhead. Villains teleport into the ship. Supergirl says they are civilian raiders looking for the ship, fuel, and belongings of the passengers. The girl pulls out a sword, ready to fight. The raiders ask Supergirl for her watch. She takes it out and puts it in their bag.
Supergirl tells Ruthye to put the sword down. The thieves take the sword. Supergirl is angry that the sword got away. Supergirl stands up and says she wants the sword back. She gives them the middle finger. She then begins to take them down one by one. Ruthye helps. Supergirl accidentally hits a civilian. She’s landing in odd spots across the ship, such as the ceiling, the floor, and the laps of other passengers. Supergirl asks the pilot how close they are to their destination, then asks if they can get any closer. Supergirl steals a spacesuit, puts it on, and then gets sucked into the vacuum of space by the raiders.
She’s floating slowly in space. Somber music plays. Ruthye and the rest of the passengers on the ship watch as she floats away. The pilot says, “I knew I should have called in sick today.” Ruthye looks upset as Supergirl gets farther away. Supergirl then smiles, clenches her fist, and begins to take down all of the spider robots attacking the ship for its resources. She gets shot by a laser from the bigger ship and flown farther away into space. She then flies closer towards the sun. The big ship follows her, attempting to catch her. Supergirl stands off against the ship, which shoots a laser at her, but she matches it with her laser vision eyes. She then takes down the ship and removes the fuel/power from it.
A quick montage is then shown of Supergirl talking to the raiders, followed by alien planets. Ruthye tells Supergirl she didn’t know “any of you were still alive” and asks about Superman. Supergirl says he’s “a freaking nerd who sees the good in everyone, and I see the truth.” Superman appears and waves at the camera, saying, “Hi there.” Quick shots of action scenes are shown, including one with Lobo, who says he recognizes Supergirl as “the girl from the dive bar.” Supergirl protects Ruthye in battle before the logo appears.
Supergirl is slated to arrive in theaters on June 26.
