These conifers grow quietly in the remote California's White Mountains. Some of them are 4,000+ years old, being older than the Egyptian pyramids or the Roman Empire. When I was shooting I couldn't help but thinking…how many nights has the Milky Way shined above this millenary tree?

This is cool, but Aspens are much older because of the root system. Some as old as 80,000 years.
