Why are we just hearing about proxima b and the red dwarf it orbits ? Alpha Centauri A is a G2 type star just like our sun. Also Alpha Centauri B is a k1 type star that is slightly smaller and less bright.
Above are direct images of both stars and a planet in the habitable zone. The planets that are in the habitable zone of alpha Centauri A is Domus, Parvulus and Tenebris.
If they could directly imagine this in 2021 with ground based telescopes in a hundred hours then they can point James Webb at the G2 star and get us some images and analysis of Domus, Parvulus and Tenebris. Have you ever heard of the closest star to earth being a G2 and it having multiple planets in the habitable zone ?
I haven’t heard anything about this until I looked. The names of these planets are not just labeled with the host stars name and a letter. Domus, Parvulus and Tenebris have special names that are both powerful and distinct.
I’m just amazed that a red dwarf and proxima b get all the attention. I already observed a extreme solar flare coming off of the red dwarf. Maybe I need to do some more research but I got a little excited and when I hadn’t posted this. Maybe I’m missing something I don’t know. Maybe someone was unaware of this and might appreciate the information.
