European companies planning to develop and deploy new space transportation services are invited to submit proposals for co-funding and access the European Space Agency’s (ESA) expertise and facilities. The ‘Boost!’ programme call for proposals now accepts new submissions and remains open until the end of 2028.

ESA’s Boost! programme helps entrepreneurs to reach market-readiness of their launch services, in-orbit transportation and return from space services, as well as their supporting services. Companies benefit from an ESA partnership, while keeping technical and commercial authority and responsibility for the services they develop.

Boost! is aimed at companies that are at an advanced stage of development of commercial space transportation services, or in the process of scaling up their products and services, with a view to accessing the market and generating initial revenues in the short to medium term.

Eligibility for Boost! requires private co-funding. For every euro invested by ESA in commercial space businesses, often more than five euros are leveraged from private investors.

ESA’s Strategy 2040 supports the space industry aiming to position Europe as a commercial hub to access and serve the global space economy – boosting European growth and competitiveness. The ESA Ministerial Council held in 2025 confirmed Member State commitment to increasing autonomy through a record level of investment of €22.3 billion to support a diverse and resilient commercial space transportation sector.

Together with the European Launcher Challenge and the Future Laucher Preparatory Programme, Boost!  helps space businesses become even more attractive to private investors and talent, fostering a virtuous cycle of accelerated investments in the early phase of heavy upfront investment while offering additional expertise to reduce development time and cost.
