WASHINGTON (TNND) — The Department of War on Friday released “never-before-seen” files on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), part of what officials described as a historic transparency effort ordered by President Donald Trump to begin declassifying government records tied to the phenomena.

“No other president or administration in history has followed through on this level of UAP transparency,” the department said in a statement.

After the news broke, Trump said it was his honor to direct his administration to provide the declassified files and blamed the previous administrations for “failing to be transparent on this subject.” (TNND)

After the news broke, Trump said it was his honor to direct his administration to provide the declassified files and blamed the previous administrations for “failing to be transparent on this subject.”

“With these new documents and videos, the people can decide for themselves, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?” the president wrote on Truth Social. “Have fun and enjoy!”

Speaking last week at a White House event honoring NASA astronauts, Trump added, “We’re going to be releasing a lot of things that we haven’t.”

Earlier this year, Trump announced he would direct agencies to release files related to alien and extraterrestrial life.

The department said the materials consist of unresolved cases, meaning the government is unable to make a definitive determination about the nature of the observed phenomena.

“This can occur for a variety of reasons, including a lack of sufficient data, and the Department of War welcomes the application of private-sector analysis, information, and expertise,” the statement said. “DOW will continue to conduct separate reporting on resolved UAP cases, as mandated by statute. Under this administration, we will pursue the truth and share our findings with the American people.”

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said the files “have long fueled justified speculation” and that it is time for Americans to see for themselves.

FBI Director Kash Patel applauded Trump for providing a level of transparency “that no prior administration has ever delivered.”

This @FBI remains committed to supporting this rolling declassification effort and will continue working 24/7 with this administration and our interagency partners to give Americans the transparency they deserve,” Patel wrote on X.

The effort is being led by the Pentagon, the White House, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Department of Energy, NASA and the FBI.

Officials said newly discovered and declassified information will be released on a rolling basis via the department’s website.
