I own this amazing tape machine which has a very interesting origin. It used to be owned by NASA, and it came with a piece of tape with different shuttle names written on it.
I haven’t been able to figure out what it was used for though…
Edit: One other thing to note is that it says “Recorder B” at the very top but it’s hard to see in the photo
Also, I’m in Austin, TX – so I imagine it came from Houston

It played the wake-up music on Shuttle missions.

Looks like a sound recorder similar to the link below. Take a picture of the I/O? Like the plug options in the back. That will quickly tell you what it was for (or post it here and we can). Bet you can plug speakers in and play back whats on that tape. https://reverb-res.cloudinary.com/image/upload/v1483647987/Tape-2_mxmwdo.jpg

I’m suspicion of the authenticity of the tape with names.
Mostly gut feeling. But, partly, names are too iconic and cover too wide a period of time. If / when this was used in relation to Endeavour, why is it still listing some sort of active function / track listing for Eagle (moon landing).

And in reverse chronological order?
