5 hours of OSC imaging under Bortle 3 skies. 2 minute subs, 30 bias, 20 flats, no darks. Stacked in Siril, processed in Seti Astro Suite using statistical stretch & cosmic clarity. Final touches in photoshop.

This was my first attempt at photographing this amazing region of space. I knew Alnitak was a bright star but I certainly underestimated just how much this would impact my processing. I really struggled to balance color and exposure. Definitely wishing I had taken shorter subs but overall I’m happy with the end result for a first try.

    My Equipment:
    – Askar V 80mm objective with field flatener (combined 500 mm focal length)
    – Canon EOS Rebel T7i (UV/IR cut modded)
    – Sky Watcher Star Adventurer GTI
    – Askar FMA135 guide scope
    – ZWO ASI120 mini mono guide camera
    – ZWO ASIAIR mini
