I honestly don’t get why people are saying this is a distraction still. Its also funny because whenever someone says why is it always in America they don’t pay attention, but when its in other countries they say “its a distraction”.

Can you blame these folk? Why in the hell would any government expect the masses to trust them, through all the lies, other distractions and bullshit over the years?
Unless your like us where you have a general interest and curiosity on the topic, the public aren’t going to believe anything they’re told from the government about aliens- and they’ve lied all these years about it covering it up why should they trust them now..?

This drives me nuts. People obviously have no idea how distractions are supposed to work. How can something be a distraction when hardly any major news media covers it?

Our corrupt Canadian Liberal government pays off our media such as the one reporting this story. Most Canadians are so pissed off with lies, deception, scandals and being taxed to death, that anything the media reports is taken as nothing but a distraction.
CTV could report an asteroid on a path to wipe out North America and we would still call it a distraction!!

The “liberal distraction” argument makes no sense. It’s about half-half Republicans and Democrats pushing for disclosure. It’s a truly bipartisan issue because everyone gets a piece of it.

Who is being distracted?
This sub has 2.2 Million people. That’s a bit more than the populations of Manitoba and Saskatchewan combined.
MB + SK! Hooray! (Two places that can barely be said to exist!)
Put another way: If we just guess that r/UFOs is half American, that means 1/360 US residents are interested in this weird drama.
ONE in 360.
No one is being distracted. There is no point in organizing any distraction.
I remember the story because it was about the February shootdowns, but here are 2 things that grabbed me when looking at that old story again –
1. Several days after the event where three objects were shot down, 2 of them over Canada, and apparently no wreckage ever recovered, the objects are still referred to in official released correspondence as “UAP”.
2. The object shot down in February over the Yukon was the 23rd “UAP” tracked by NORAD that year already.
*I am more and more convinced that the only difference between people interested in the phenomenon and people uninterested, is the level of reasonable curiosity shown, and that people not interested just have a nonsensically low level of curiosity.*
How do people think all of this is just unimportant?
The document goes on to say, and rather alarmingly I would have thought, that while no. 23 was shot down over the Yukon, the other one shot down over Alaska was no. 20. This suggests the one shot down over the Great Lakes might have been no. 21, or 22, or maybe came after no. 23 – *either way, there is at least one other “UAP” that weekend nobody knew about until the release of this letter to the Prime Minister of Canada. How people remain uninterested in this never ceases to amaze me* –
>*Object #23’s function, method of propulsion, or affiliation to any nation-state, remains unverified. It is unknown whether it poses an armed threat or has intelligence collection capabilities. The full exploitation of UAP #20, which was engaged by the U.S. on February 10, 2023, has not yet been completed.

Did you really highlight a post with 15 likes?
It’s a dumb populist trope.
When looking around for information about this this morning I came across [this tweet](https://twitter.com/dsotis/status/1699137491482083512) from a Canadian who is interested in the phenomenon, and it posted up a link to the following CTV story from Sept 2023.

People give the government too much credit 😂
