At Kailasa Temple they didn’t build upward — they carved downward into a single rock mountain.
Over 200,000 tons of stone removed. No modern machinery. Still one of the greatest engineering mysteries of the ancient world.
How did they achieve this level of precision over 1,200 years ago?

Skill, patience, dedication and elbow grease
How about an ancient civilization with a forgotten technology
This is ligit crazy AF.
Giant floating 3d printer? 🤔🤣
The amount of skill is insane. And yup they had shit else to do. Note its one piece of bedrock carving down. Issue would be if you fucked up you cant correct it lol
what did they use the excavated rock for, did they build temples elsewhere? maybe Kailasa was both a quarry and a temple
A group of people that are just as smart as we are did this…but they didn’t have the endless distractions that we do. We assume that because they lived much simpler lives with simpler belongings and (what we think are) simpler views and knowledge of the world that they weren’t as capable as we are today…..and it’s just wrong.
These folks, outside of food, water, shelter, and health had nothing to do but to try and get better at doing things….and I think that’s exactly what they did.
So many of us don’t give ancient civilizations enough credit. So we all jump to the conclusion that they had some kind of crazy technology or were assisted by aliens.
Why not both?
Its beyond crazy really. Youd think theyd be smaller examples knocking around as they practiced their art or did they just go for it. What advantages does it have as disadvantages would be things like the garden being in shade most of the day, possibly damp if rain didnt escape and then giving up the high ground to potential invaders.
Its really impressive how ever or why it was done. I can see it being within the gift of humans to do and maybe they practiced in building underground houses in dirt and just translated that in rock for this masterpiece.
Sir I think that’d be both
Both?
In my opinion this is not the most unbelievable structure on Earth but it is the most impressive… it’s simple existence has me questioning the history of our species
It is rivaled only by non-modal and the Great Pyramids of Egypt and even then I believe it to be more impressive: but in the case of all three you can’t help but ask one question
How the fuck do you move all that stone
