The DoW dropped 162 files on May 8 at war.gov/UFO/ but the official page is just a flat directory of PDFs with cryptic filenames. So over the release weekend I built uap.watch to serve as a public reading room for the entire tranche.

What's in it:

  • All 162 documents, OCR'd to clean text (113 of 118 unique PDFs have full extracted text inline; 5 are image-only FBI scans)
  • 57 incidents pinned on a world map, filterable by year, agency, and region
  • Cross-linked photo and video evidence with deep links back to the war.gov source
  • A RAG chatbot grounded *only* in the 162 files — no model speculation, citations to the source document on every answer Wiki pages, state-by-state breakdowns, FAQ explainers, side-by-side incident comparisons

Independent project, no ads, MIT-licensed code on GitHub. Built this because every news article during the release was linking to a folder of PDFs and bouncing readers off.

Happy to answer any questions about the pipeline or the data.
