  1. I was looking into the Frigyan excavations and found something interesting about King Midas. Most people know him from the myths, but his skull is actually in the Ankara Museum.

    What’s wild is that the ‘Donkey Ears’ legend isn’t just a random story. When you look at the skull, you can see a clear asymmetry in the ear canals. It looks like he was born with a physical condition that made his ears look different, and over centuries, the public turned that medical reality into a supernatural myth.

    Also, it’s ironic that a king famous for his ‘Golden Touch’ was buried in a tomb with almost no gold—just wood and bronze. It shows how much we’ve distorted the actual history through folklore. Standing there and looking at the bare bones of a man who was once the center of all that wealth is a strange feeling.
