A new contender has entered the televised wrestling wars. NWA Powerrr recently made its debut on Comet TV May 2nd, and according to the NWA, it scored a rating of 275,000 households. By comparison, via Figure Four Online, TNA Impact averaged 209,000 viewers for their April 30th show.

“The numbers are in, and Nielsen reports 275,000 households tuned in to the May 2 episode of 𝙉𝙒𝘼 𝙋𝙊𝙒𝙀𝙍𝙍𝙍 on Comet TV. The episode marked the National Wrestling Alliance’s long-awaited return to broadcast television after 30 years and first in its new, weekly time slot Saturdays, 4PM ET.

The novelty of the debut episode may have provided a boost, so it will be interesting to see if the ratings can sustain. On the show, former NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion Trevor Murdoch, who teamed with Lance Cade years ago in WWE, announced his retirement.
