The Greenville Lady Comets continued their outstanding season by grabbing their 20th victory of the season Monday at Carlinville.
The Greenville High School girls posted a 14-0 win behind the pitching of Ava Potthast. She struck out eight batters.
Offensively, Payton White and Haylee Clark cracked two hits apiece. Other Lady Comets with hits were Kaitlyn Lurkins, Potthast, Zoee Englert, Clare Glisson and Paige Knebel.
With the win, the team’s record was 20-4. After the Lady Comets play at Christ Our Rock Lutheran on Thursday, local fans can see the local squad in action at home on Friday against Southwestern Piasa.
