The moon rises through a cloudbank Sunday night over the Monterey Bay and Santa Cruz. For reference, the large white building directly under the moon is the Dream Inn on West Cliff Drive. The last full moon, the Flower Moon, rose on Friday and May’s second full moon, a blue moon, will rise on May 31. This year features multiple lunar highlights according to Astronomy Magazine including a second total/near-total lunar eclipses in August.
