It might have been yet another Sig Sauer P320 uncommanded discharge as well, which is a mechanical issue with the pistol that had led to many of them going off for no reason. There’s been multiple lawsuits and many police departments who have gotten rid of them because of the issue.

So why’d they keep shooting him afterwards? Did the accidental discharge happen another seven or eight times?

He misses the point, you don’t fight the feds put your hands on them and then resist arrest while carrying a weapon. You identify yourself and inform them you’ve a weapon, not roll around on the ground with a loaded pistol in your waist band. Unless I’m mistaken they don’t have crystal balls and mind reading abilities to what your intentions are and if youve additional weapons on you. A massive fuck up on all sides but totally avoidable he could have been at home watching TV.

He had me until he said they’d be arrested come midterms. Congress isn’t gonna do shit but performance art.

It was a Sig P320, the chances of it going off by itself are honestly greater than the chances the officer ND’d it.

What does this have to do with Alternative History? There are plenty of political subs for this kind of content.

As far as I can tell, he’s right, and that’s what appears to have happened. This raises a different question for me, as a non-gun owner: don’t guns have safefies to prevent accidental discharge? But after seeing that video: yes, the first shot does appear to have come from Alex’s own handgun, followed by a volley of confused murdershooting.
Also… why is this posted in this sub? This is hardly history, and it’s hardly a ‘fringe theory’ when you can literally see the handgun being removed from him and then discharged as the first shot. This guy is just doing the work that is normally done by an inquest, because – for whatever disgusting reason – there probably won’t be an official one

This is actually the best breakdown I’ve seen.
