  3. Medieval paintings is one of the least trustworthy source, just look how the drew a lions. Also those are stylistic choices, drawing big people emphasize the important of those people.

  4. eh, paintings shouldn’t be taken literally. especially early medieval paintings found perspective taboo as they deemed that art should portray “divine truth” (aka symbolism) instead of just how mortals see it. For all we know they might just be shown as larger because they are higher in the hierarchy

    No, these things are not evidence of giants.

    What you see in the paintings is a stylistic choice to emphasize certain figures.

    As for the big doors, these are also a stylistic choice often to symbolize things such as power and/or grandeur. The intention is to make a statement and inspire awe, either for religious reasons (in the case of cathedrals and other religious buildings) or perhaps as a show of power in terms of things like forts.
