Don’t you think she might be a bit conspicuous? (Showing my age here) I remember when I was at school and some kid had the first “hands free” for his phone and he just about got every kids attention in the school with it because it was so out there!

That’s an ear trumpet. It’s like an L-shaped funnel that you hold up to your ear to capture sounds.
