I want to preface this all by saying that I am diagnosed Schizophrenic. So, please take all of this with a grain of salt. But also, hear me out…
Around February of 2024, I had a dream that Candida Auris (something id never even heard of) would become a global pandemic. I started looking into the case numbers and found that it had been increasing by about 78% year over year since it's initial discovery.
Now, back then I was untreated for my myriad conditions, fresh out of a cult, and in full blown psychosis. I freaked out when I saw the numbers. At the time, with the only hard data I had (4,514 cases in 2023 per the CDC), I made the prediction that it would reach endemic levels by 2026 and become a full blown worldwide pandemic by 2030.
I eventually talked myself down and chalked it up to me simply being clinically insane. But its kind of been in the back of my mind ever since.
Recently, I decided to look at these numbers again. It seems that my initial predictions were eerily accurate. The CDC has now classified it as an Urgent Antimicrobial Resistance Threat, the highest level of concern, due to its ability to resist multiple antifungal drugs, spread rapidly in healthcare settings, and cause outbreaks
If my predictions hold, there will have been about 14k cases in the US in 2025, and 25k by 2026; which would qualify it as an endemic. Assuming there are no novel treatment methods developed, it will reach pandemic levels in the US by 2030 with over 250k cases. With its high mortality rate (30-72%) C Auris represents a real and credible threat.
I am genuinely concerned about this and I just needed to tell someone about it…

I agree with you. There was also a user called babylon something who would schizopost constantly about candida taking over the world. He went DEEP but often I could not really disagree with him. He made some wild connections.
My mom had a dream like 20 years ago about a super flu coming out of Wuhan but she couldn’t understand the name Wuhan and kept telling us it was Wutang. We were like mom that’s a Rap group but she insisted it was some name like that.Â
I think you are right to be worried about this, but I would recommend posting/commenting in some groups that are more geared toward science discussions. This group can be fun, but probably isn’t the right place to get accurate information about a serious topic like this
I think you’re using endemic wrong. For example, something like toxoplasma gondii is endemic, in that between 1/3 to 1/2 the population is unknowingly infected by it at any given time. BTW, I recommend you look up symptoms of toxoplasma gondii. It’s insane and explains a lot of what’s going on in society today. No, it’d be more accurate to use epidemic and/or pandemic based on your description.

Covid-19 can absolutely crush your immune system and leave the body unable to fight off lots of different different infections, fungal being one of them. Since the world is pretending that COVID is harmless/non-existent it’s lead to a vast increase in suppressed immune systems throughout the populace, and the rising numbers of fungal infections are a good indicator of that.
