Caught what I assume was a recent starlink deplpyment over KS

  1. Any time you see a line of satellites with that many together it’s a Starlink deployment. The closest competitor (as far as sats per launch) is a Chinese company that I can’t remember off the top of my head, but they only ~~launch like 8 at a time I believe~~?

    * I was wrong! The constellation I was thinking of was Qianfan and they launch 18 at a time except for the most recent launch on October 17th that had an extra 10 satellites. They are also in Polar orbits. Guowang is the other big Chinese Sat-internet company that launches (usually) 9 at a time.

    That is for sure what you were seeing there. I watched the string of them over Kentucky lake one time. It was wild.

  3. Counted almost 30 with 2 ahead of the rest, lines up with their recent launch of 29. Nice surprise!

  4. When they were overhead they appeared to wiggle side to side a little, guessing due to atmospheric distortions
