Isn't this even the wrong question? Isn't anything causally disconnected from our material reality technically "outside" the universe?

  1. Not a scientist, but I would think the fact that it has a position in our observable space makes it “inside” our universe, at least some part of it anyway.

  2. my physics prof says singularities are more like mathematical placeholders than physical realities but idk i just like thinking about how weird space gets when we reach our understanding limits.
