I was looking at my doorbell cam and noticed a strange hue in the distant sky fade in, stay awhile, and fade out. Something that has never been seen by me before in the years I’ve had a doorbell cam.
I thought it was odd, so I have been trying to investigate and figure out the mystery but wanted some addional eyes and insight.
It’s not visible to the naked eye.
Facts to note:
21:08 brightness begins to fade in gradually
21:11 brightness peaks
21:14 brightness fades away gradually.
The light is not visible to the naked eye, so I snapped a photo with my camera and included it.
I included a daytime photo so you can see what is there usually.
– Has never happened before.
-Does not move with cloud deck
– I ruled out a phosphorus rocket flare (I’ve used them in the military) they only last 40 seconds or so
-No sound
-I’m on the outskirts of Des Moines, Iowa
– Easterly direction
The light faded out, and later reappeared gradually.
21:38 light fades back in and is still currently there.(according to my nest as of this post at 22:10)
Is it a camera artifact?
Thoughts?
I’m so confused.

Right as I posted this, it faded out. Ugh.
