Did I get pictures of the milky way? They were taken around 2:30 am in April, in a Bortle 3 zone in rural Illinois. Ignore any red or green lights/lasers, I had satellites and planes going by in my photos, as well as some business near me that has a green laser, it's like an agriculture thing or something, I forgot what it's called.
My shutter speed was I think 20 seconds or 25 seconds, my ISO was 1600, and it was taken on a Kodak pixpro 405.

Looks like it
Sure is
Looks like it. The band has that grainy star dense texture but the light pollution is masking it.
*gestures all around myself
“THIS, is the Milky Way”
There are apps that allow you to point the phone anywhere and see what’s in space. Check them out. On iPhone a great one is Sky Guide.

The galaxy that we currently reside in? 🤔
Yes, most definitely. One can always tell by looking for the distinct patterns of Aquilla (at the middle left: a bright star bracketed by two fainter ones) and Sagittarius (just over the roof: which looks like a “teapot.”)
The bright part of the milky way for us in the north goes from the coathanger, which is in the great rift in the top left. Look close, it’s small, down to below the teapot. Above the roof and slightly obscured in the bottom right. In between them is the Scutum star cloud, the bright spot in the milky way in the center of your image.
I recommend getting the stellarium app on your phone, its available on android and IOS and even the free version is really good, all you need really.
without a doubt
This is the way.
