The truth is out there. At least that is what a popular 90s television show told us. Some recent documents released by the FBI show a UFO encounter between police in Anoka in 2025. After the 90-minute encounter, the unidentified flying object moved north towards Monticello.
2025 Close Encounter?
According to a Fox 9 report, at least three employees of the Anoka Police Department initially noticed the flying object on February 19th, 2025, while conducting an after-action briefing following a training session.
The object was reported by officers to be “six hula-hoops with lights around each loop, similar to an orbital diagram of an atom. One witness estimated the object to be the size of an SUV or school bus.”
After the encounter, it appeared that the object moved off in the direction of Monticello, with Fox 9 reporting that “the object may have flown near the Monticello Nuclear Power Generation Plant.”
Not The First Anoka UFO Encounter
The 2025 encounter that was released by the FBI wasn’t the first UFO reported above Anoka. A report from September 2022 indicated that an unknown flying object was reported over the Anoka Ice Arena before disappearing.
UFOs and Police in Minnesota
It’s not uncommon for police officers in Minnesota to see strange and sometimes unknown things. Back in 1979, Val Johnson, a deputy in Marshall County, encountered a blinding light on State Highway 220, which left his squad car with unexplained damage, flash burns on his eyes, and a stopped dashboard clock.
