The Greenville High School girls soccer team earned a championship Friday in the Carlinville Class 1A Regional.
The Lady Comets defeated Carlinville 1-0. The only goal of the game was scored by Emma Veith.
The GHS girls advance to the Litchfield Sectional on Tuesday, May 26. They will face Alton Marquette in a 4 p.m. contest. Marquette won its own regional, 6-0, over Roxana.
The Lady Comets enter the sectional with a record of 15-11.
