In a game between the two Bond County high school softball teams last Thursday, the Greenville Lady Comets defeated the Mulberry Grove Aces 17-0.
The four-inning contest was played at the Greenville University field.
Ava Potthast was credited with the pitching win as she threw the first two innings. She struck out six batters.
Payton White pitched the last two innings, recording five strikeouts.
Potthast did well offensively, collecting two hits including a home run. Players also posting two hits apiece for the Lady Comets were Clare Glisson, Haylee Clark and Jana Glisson.
It was the 24th win of the season for the varsity Lady Comets.
