The Greenville High School varsity softball team posted a victory on Senior Day Wednesday.
The GHS girls recorded an 11-4 win over Okawville. Kaitlyn Lurkins was the winning pitcher, striking out seven batters.
Getting the big hit for the Lady Comets was Emma Bingham, who ripped a grand slam homer in the fourth inning to open up the game. Payton White and Haylee Clark produced four hits apiece. Bingham, Lurkins, Ava Potthast and Jana Glisson had two hits each.
Honored before the game were the senior players and their parents. The seniors are Haylee Clark, Zoee Fenton-Englert, Ava Potthast and Hailey Quade.
The win gave the Lady Comets an overall record of 23-4. They end the regular season Saturday on the road.
