The BFA-St. Albans Comets’ tennis team had a match on Tuesday, May 5, against Harwood and lost 7-0, with our team playing up in positions without Tessa Rocheleau. Lily Routhier played #1 singles to battle well against a tough opponent, losing 6-1,6-2. Another well-played match was Sophia Oszurek at #2, losing 6-1,6-1.

We lost 7-0 against Champlain Valley Union on Saturday, May 9.

Recognizing this was one of Vermont’s top teams, we went in with lots of willingness to try and fight for every point. Again, Sophia Oszurek had the best showdown, losing a close first set 7-5, and falling 6-1 in the second set. Morgan Barnett and Sara Golden played well at 1st doubles and 2nd doubles, and Taliyah Paterson, Deliah, and Branon had lots of great points, losing with a score of 6-1,6-1.

The team is starting to really find its swing, and the future looks bright for BFA tennis. Our next match is Tuesday, May 12, at North Country High School. We play on Thursday, May 14, against Montpelier at home at 3:30 p.m.
