The win moved the Comets to a second elimination game Thursday where they had little trouble disposing of the Central Baptist Mustangs 11-4.
Cottey had a 7-0 lead after the top of the fourth inning, gave up four runs to the Mustangs in the fourth, but then capped it off with a four run seventh inning.
Garcia was 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs, Carrissa Camaclang went 3 for 4 and Halen Hoelzeman smacked a three run home run.
Tippie started game two but lasted until the fourth when Tatianna Colegrove came in to finish it and earned the win in relief.
Cottey now heads to the AMC championship game Friday against the tournament unbeaten Columbia College Cougars. The Comets will have to beat the Cougars twice Friday to earn the title while the Cougars will need just one win.
