BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Space Coast residents are being advised to prepare for an exciting day of back-to-back rocket launches on Monday, April 27, featuring both a powerful daytime liftoff and a stunning nighttime display.
The morning launch will include a Falcon Heavy mission, expected to make an impact across the area.
With dual booster landings planned back at the Cape, residents from Titusville to Cocoa Beach could hear two distinct sonic booms approximately eight minutes after liftoff.
The sound may be strong enough to rattle windows and startle pets.
Later that evening, a second Atlas 5 launch is scheduled, offering what is expected to be a visually striking nighttime flight.
The rocket’s northeast trajectory could create a bright, glowing arc visible along much of Florida’s east coast, depending on weather conditions.
Officials encourage residents and visitors to take advantage of the rare double-header launch opportunity while remaining aware of the potential for loud sonic booms earlier in the day.
From the rumble of returning boosters to a glowing night sky, April 27 is shaping up to be a memorable day along the Space Coast.
