The family of UFO expert and paranormal YouTuber has broken the silence over the death of David Wilcock, which took the internet by storm for the past two days.

In recent development, the family has confirmed that Wilcock died by suicide on April 20, 2026. In a press release from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Wilcock’s family acknowledged that he was struggling with years-long mental health crisis, depression, and “overwhelming financial debt.”

They also rejected the involvement of any foul play and conspiracy claims widely-circulating on X and YouTube related to the American author’s tragic death.

“In remembering David, it is important to hold more than one truth at once: that some of his work raised concerns about misinformation, and that he was also a person who was on an eternal quest for clarity,” the family wrote.

According to family statements, like other human beings, Wilcock was going through vulnerabilities and complexities that affect all our lives.

The family also urged on keeping a check on people dealing with mental health issues with open minds and compassion in our hearts.

“The loss of a life can turn our focus to our shared humanity, whether we agree on life’s unanswered questions or not,” they added.

The tragic death of the 53-year-old, a prominent figure in the disclosure movement, also sparked the various conspiracy theories. Some netizens linked his death to the sinister pattern which showed the sudden disappearances and deaths of US scientists linked to sensitive scientific research.

Just two days prior to his death, the 53-year-old paranormal author had streamed live on YouTube.

During the live streaming, Wilcock expressed concerns over the mysterious deaths of other UFO theorists and scientists, including Nick Pope and Erich von Däniken, a Swiss conspiracy theorist, who died in January 2026.

“I’m excited to be here, you know, every day that I have on earth is a gift and a blessing, and I’m very grateful for that, because frankly, people are disappearing. Scientists are going missing….It’s a little bit scary.”
