I've been obsessed with the heaven's gate story for years but not for the usual reasons.
Forget the nikes…what’s actually wild is their website. It’s 2026 and this server from '97 is still live. who’s even paying the hosting bills for 30 years?
The weirdest part is if you email that ancient address, a real person actually hits you back. it’s not an auto-reply. Someone is still there guarding a gateway to a world that was supposed to end with the comet.
I spent months digging into who stayed behind to keep the lights on and why.
I put everything i found in a video if you guys want to see the "survivors" and their deal I’ll put the link in the comments.
Who do you think is actually on the other end of those emails?

Second photo is so aesthetic

What information exactly are they disseminating…?
Creepy. So what are your reasons for the obsession if not the normal ones?Â

Very interesting OP
Wow, the commitment is enormous, whether it’s genuinely because they believe in everything or simply to keep an interesting site alive. The fact that they truly believe the people actually achieved their goal is scary. After all these years, chilling.
Ooooooo great video thank you so much . I just subscribed too !
People keep rediscovering this
The HBO documentary about them showed that a significant portion of the members were tech literate enough to get jobs in web development. They even had a commercial group called Higher Source. I would wager that the site master probably continued to work in tech industry to pay the bills for hosting the site after being “left behind”.
