Professor Marshall McLuhan said, “the medium is the message,” meaning that the form of a communication medium (TV, print, social media, etc.) shapes how the message is perceived more than the content itself.
UFO/NHI encounters have included deceptive messages since the beginning of recorded history, almost always appearing spiritual or heavenly in nature. While the message and appearance vary, the effect does not.
Instead of debating the legitimacy of Chris Bledsoe, we should be questioning the motives behind the UFO and its intent behind the false messages.
Jacques Vallée wrote in Messengers of Deception: “The UFO phenomenon is like a control system… that acts on humans through symbolic displays… like a projector that generates whatever imagery is needed to influence belief. We are dealing with a technology of illusion… capable of manipulating space, time, and human perception.”
