The Forgotten Fortress of Blaundos: A Greek outpost carved on a peninsula surrounded by deep canyons. How did Alexander the Great’s soldiers build this 2,300 years ago?

  1. Blaundos was established by Alexander the Great’s soldiers over 2,300 years ago as a strategic military outpost. The entire city sits on a peninsula surrounded by deep, dangerous canyons on three sides, with only one narrow entrance from the north.

The site features a massive monumental gate, a stadium built into the slopes, and temples dedicated to Demeter and Emperor Claudius. Given the extremely rugged terrain and the massive stone blocks used in construction, the logistics of building such a grand city on these cliffs raise significant questions about ancient engineering and masonry.

What’s the low effort slop, this is a normal hellenistic city in a completely normal anatolian landscape. It’s not even a peninsula as you claim. “…raise significant questions about ancient engineering and masonry.” What are you talking about? That aliens build it? An ancient super civilation build temples for Claudius?
