What if the cold war didn’t go with the West being significantly more successful?

Let's say in an alternative reality, where Sino-Soviet split was prevented, Yugoslavia allied with/joined the Soviets, Soviet-Afghan war was won with ease, and many more communist regimes in South America and Africa were managed to get established. Would this even be possible, if so, what would this lead to?
