WASHINGTON, D.C.—Pitching injuries have already hit the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers hard this season.

Left-handed ace Blake Snell, while not injured, has been delayed due to a slow ramp-up on his part coming into the 2026 season.

Right-hander Gavin Stone, who was poised to return to the pitching staff this season, suffered a significant setback after just one Cactus League appearance and was transferred to the 60-day injured list earlier this week.

Another arm the Dodgers were hopeful to have at some point this season is young right-hander River Ryan; however, out of an abundance of caution, the team opted to have him start the year in Triple-A.

But before that, Ryan stayed in Arizona to continue his spring training buildup and was left off the Oklahoma City Comets preliminary roster.

But that is going to change this weekend, as Alex Freedman reports that Ryan has rejoined the Comets in Las Vegas and will make his minor league season debut this Saturday.

Ryan looked ready to break with the team during Spring Training, posting a 1.86 ERA across 9.2 Cactus League innings.

In his brief MLB tenure with the Dodgers in 2024, Ryan held a 1.33 ERA across four games and had a 1.86 ERA across 9.2 Cactus League innings this season.
