Hey guys, I’m currently beach camping in Oman and was setting up my tent when I noticed these strange green lights in the water. I got out my phone to record/zoom in to see it clearer and this freaking blue orb thing came out the water too!

Time: 3rd April 2026 7.16pm

Location: Qalhat Beach View Point, Oman

Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Or does anyone have an explanation? I’ve never seen anything like this in my life.

Also, for more context, I took a first video when I noticed the lights and video’d for 3 minutes. This was near the shoreline, maybe 30/40 meters into the ocean. The lights then disappeared a few seconds after I stopped recording. I sat in my tent and sent the video to my brother and sister asking what I just saw and then 5 minutes later the green lights were back, but this time they were so far away. I recorded a second video for 10+ minutes just watching this thing. It continued to “look like” it’s looking around for something, and the green lights look like they’re moving sideways from right to left. Sometimes they looked like they’re looking independently, both left and right, and then they come back to center as one again. Any ideas? First time posting anything on Reddit

P.s sorry for the swearing and freak out lol

I’ve heard of algae that illuminates when the waves break, but the orbs have me scratching my head

  2. Most likely night divers, however I have witnessed a similar scene with red/orange orbs that levitated out of the water and began slowly flying towards the open ocean. The world is full of strange things.

Wow that’s pretty amazing footage! Have you heard of the green laser UFO sightings? could be the same (or similar) thing

The distance between the first and second videos I took was pretty huge. Maybe 40 meters from shore the first time and then 200 meters from shore the second time…all in the space of 5/10 minutes. Is that normal for a diver? And even when I was videoing it looked like it was moving so fast in the second video 🤔

  5. the green is bioluminescence in the wave caps. i have seen it a few times myself and looks just like that. If you had walked right up to the water, your foot steps would have probably looked like they had stars twinkling in them. very cool experience. the blue light I have no idea though.

Looks like typical lighting for squid fishing, which is really common in Oman
