    This flips the whole ‘agriculture first’ narrative on its head. If ritual and communal feasting not survival drove early settlement, then Göbekli Tepe makes complete sense as a gathering site rather than a residential one. People weren’t living there, they were coming there. The beer was the social glue that made large scale cooperation possible long before farming did.
