What if Artemis 2 had a catastrophical failure?

I hoping that those brave astronauts would end up safely in the pacific ocean in less than a week, but what future would program face if during this flyby something would go wrong ending with disaster? Would this throwback program funding, or public attention will allow to double down in order to make their sacriface not meaningless?
