A top lawmaker has demanded a probe into a ‘dark’ pattern of deaths and unexplained disappearances of several scientists linked to UFO research.

US Congressman Tim Burchett said he was disturbed by the cases including those of retired US Air Force Major General William McCasland and his former colleague Monica Reza both of whom vanished in mysterious circumstances. McCasland has not been seen since February 27 when he left his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, US, for a run.

Despite an investigation by police, FBI, US Air Force officials and New Mexico Search & Rescue no trace of him has been found.

Reza was last seen nine months ago hiking in Angeles National Forest, California, with a pal. The aerospace engineer reportedly worked under McCasland on a US Government project focused on developing a specialised metal for rockets.

It remains unclear if their disappearances are linked. But Mr Burchett said: “Something dark is going on. I know these scientists and researchers.

“They have testified. We’ve got to get to the bottom of it. It’s just too much, too much is going on right now. There have been several others throughout the country that have disappeared under suspicious circumstances. I think we ought to be paying attention to it.

“The numbers seem very high in these certain areas of research. I think we’d better be paying attention and I don’t think we should trust our government.”

Tim, who sits on the House Oversight Committee investigating UFO reports, recently accused NASA of ‘lying’ about its knowledge and concealing classified files. Asked why more whistleblowers had not come forward Mr Burchett said they were frightened.

“They’re afraid someone will disappear them,” he said. “I think being murdered is what they’re afraid of. I think some of them truly are because of things they’ve seen.”

Previously he has accused the Government of misleading the public about extraterrestrial activity. In 2023 he claimed officials were hiding the truth about aliens and UFOs and has alleged the US is reverse-engineering alien technology capable of catastrophic destruction.

Last year he said the Government was aware of underwater alien bases claiming ‘entities’ exist at several deep-sea locations around the world. US Air Force veteran David Grusch, a former member of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency and National Reconnaissance Office, said threats and intimidation he had received forced him to blow the whistle on UFO black ops.

The intelligence officer, who told Congress the US Government had captured ‘non-human biologics’ from at least 10 aliens at UFO crash sites, alleged officials ‘killed people’ who tried to expose the secret. He told US TV he decided to go public with what he knew about the Government’s close encounters ‘for my own protection’.

The decorated Afghanistan combat veteran said he had suffered a ‘nightmare’ since coming clean and had lodged a formal complaint with the authorities he hoped would be followed up by ‘federal law enforcement’. and ‘counter intelligence personnel’. In 2023 he said he had been told by ‘certain scientists on the program that are known to me’. the US Government had bumped off insiders who threatened to expose the finds.

“Because of the serious nature of that I directed them to the appropriate authorities,” he said. Grusch refused to go into details of his own ordeal as a whistleblower but said: “Some unique things happened in my personal life that we some of the causal factors for me to file a complaint – some things that my wife and I had noticed, some intimidation. That is one of the reasons why I went public.

“Certainly I was shown that they can touch me at any time. That’s what led me to not only contact my former agency and counter intelligence folks with what I witnessed and I provided evidence to that fact. Certainly going public was the appropriate move for me for my own protection.”

Major General McCasland’s wife Susan has described any suggested link between his disappearance and UFOs as ‘misinformation’.
