LOS ANGELES, CA—While the Los Angeles Dodgers are opening up the 2026 Major League Baseball season with a dominant 8-2 Opening Day win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, their Triple-A affiliate, the Oklahoma City Comets, announced their preliminary roster for 2026.
Of the 43 players currently counted on the Dodgers’ 40-man roster—including the three placed on the 60-day IL—10 are on the injured list, and 26 are active on the Major League roster. The remaining seven 40-man players are with the Comets.
The OKC Comets roster is highlighted by 2025 PCL MVP Ryan Ward, who was added to the Dodgers 40-man roster this winter but failed to secure a spot on the Dodgers 26-man roster after a lackluster spring.
Joining Ward is another fan-favorite in Hyeseong Kim, who was optioned to Triple-A a week before the end of spring training as the second base platoon job went to rookie Alex Freeland.
Kim is expected to play second base, shortstop, and center field, along with more retooling with his swing, per Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, who also expected to see Kim sooner than later this season.
Kyle Hurt is one of the relievers in that group. After an impressive spring, the Dodgers chose to slow-play the right-hander, who missed all of last season recovering from Tommy John surgery. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him called up once a need arises in the majors.
Ehrhard and Tibbs, acquired from the Boston Red Sox in the Dustin May trade last July, stood out as non-roster invitees and are the closest to the majors among the Dodgers’ deep group of outfield prospects.
Jack Suwinski and utility man Ryan Fitzgerald both spent time on the Dodgers’ 40-man roster this offseason, with Fitzgerald expected to move around the infield—and possibly the outfield—for the Oklahoma City Comets. Defensive standout Noah Miller will anchor shortstop there, alongside Nick Senzel and Fitzgerald, all former non-roster invitees.
Veteran arms Cole Irvin and Keynan Middleton headline the Comets’ pitching staff, joined by major-league-experienced pitchers Ryder Ryan, Garrett McDaniels, and Carlos Duran.
