So i was going through veritasium’s video which mentioned gravitational lensing. Why do we see Einstein cross? I mean why sometimes only 4 images are formed and sometimes a complete ring is formed.
Distance between all the objects (us, the lens, the subject), the size of the lens and subject, the lens mass, and how the lens mass is distributed will all affect the view of the subject.
