Hey everyone,
I recently went down a rabbit hole on Gunung Padang in Indonesia, and I’m curious what people here think about it.
On the surface, it’s a well-documented megalithic site with stone terraces. But some studies — especially the more controversial ones — suggest there could be deeper layers beneath the hill that might be structured or even man-made.
Supporters of that idea point to things like:
- subsurface anomalies detected in surveys
- layered structures at different depths
- claims that parts of the site could be far older than currently accepted
Skeptics, on the other hand, argue that:
- the formations can be explained by volcanic processes
- the data is being overinterpreted
- there’s no solid archaeological evidence for a buried pyramid or similar structure
So I’m genuinely curious:
👉 Do you think there’s anything to these deeper structure claims?
👉 Or is this a case of natural geology being misread as something artificial?
Would be really interesting to hear different perspectives from this community.
