SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Springfield Thunderbirds defeated the visiting Utica Comets 6-3 in front of a packed house at the MassMutual Center on Saturday. Springfield’s new captain, Chris Wagner, had a hat trick as the Thunderbirds kept pace in their chase for the last playoff spot in the Atlantic Division.
