Alien: Romulus is getting a sequel, but director Fede Álvarez (Evil Dead) will not be returning.
Instead, A Quiet Place: Day One director Michael Sarnoski is being eyed to take the reins.
It sounds simple, but where there’s smoke, there’s fire, and reports online indicate Álvarez left over several disagreements with Alien creator and franchise producer Ridley Scott.

Feature First reported that Álvarez reportedly dropped out of directing because the lead actor in his pitch, David Jonsson, did not want to reprise his role.
ViewerAnon, a very regular insider in the industry, added fuel to the flames by revealing that Álvarez and Scott were allegedly butting heads regularly, which led to Fede’s exit. An interesting tidbit is that Álvarez reportedly wanted to bring Michael Fassbender back as David, and Ridley Scott shut him down “pretty hard”.
