In my part of Australia, summer is typically cloudy with few clear nights. This image took 2 months of snatching imaging time wherever I could to build up enough hours. IC447 – Dreyer’s Nebula is a reflection nebula in the constellation of Monoceros, not far from the famous Horse Head nebula.
Captured with an ASI533MC Pro with a William Optics Z61 scope. 389 x 180 sec subs over 11 nights of imaging between 1 Jan 2026 and 21 Feb 2026 for a total imaging time of 23.5 hours. Processed in Pixinsight:
·        Crop
·        Remove gradients
·        SPCC to correct colours
·        BlurXterminator for deconvolution
·        Stretch
·        Remove stars
·        Curves transform for final adjustments
