Both Rapid City Christian and Lead-Deadwood cruised to wins in their openers of the Class A Region 8 playoffs.

The Comets defeated Belle Fourche 56-28. Henry Koppmann led the way for RC Christian with 15 points, while Sully Kieffer had 10.

The Comets advance to host Hill City Friday night for a 6 p.m. tip-off. The winner advances to the SODAK 16.

In another Region 8 game, Lead-Deadwood took care of Custer 69-51. The Golddiggers will travel to top seed St. Thomas More on Friday night for a 6 p.m. game, with a SODAK 16 trip on the line.
