The top-seeded Penns Manor Comets play the number two Crushers in the girls title game at 6 o’clock. McCort returns most of last year’s team which beat Penns Manor twice, by five points in the District 6 title game and by two in the state playoffs.
Comets coach Jason Miloser says his very young team fought hard to get to Mount Aloysius.
Miloser says his girls will have to make every possession count and play tough defense to keep McCort from taking control of the game.
In the boys Double-A title game, the unbeaten top-seeded United Lions tangle with the third seed, a McCort team that United beat just sixteen days ago, 71-61 in their regular season finale. In that game, United pumped in four three-pointers in the first quarter and jumped to a 20-8 lead after one. The Lions finished with seven threes for the game. But McCort’s Maddox Loughard hit seven threes and scored 23 points while slashing guard Angelo Galluci scored 24, production that was offset by United having four players in double figures.
Coach Matt Rodkey says the Lions have had their difficulties with Bishop McCort in the past.
Rodkey says the Lions’ defense will be tested by McCort’s big guns.
